Jhpiego is hiring for the posion of Senior Program Officer- CPHC based at New Delhi or its 12 intervenon States for its USAID funded health systems strengthening project – NISHTHA. The posion will contribute to acvies across comprehensive primary healthcare (CPHC) programs at Jhpiego in India and reports to the Deputy Chief of Party, NISHTHA at Naonal Level or State Program Manager/Officer (SPM/O) at State Level (based on locaon). Role and Responsibilies: • Work closely with Jhpiego’s project NISHTHA’s State/ Naonal teams, government counterparts and partners to support development of strategies, implementaon plan and monitoring framework for resilient health systems. • Support intervenon states for enhancing health systems’ resilience in post COVID era and develop, implement, monitor state specific project acvies including development of roadmaps, work-plans, acvies, reports etc. • Create rapid response mechanism to respond the technical assistance requirements from intervenon as well as non-intervenon states in terms of support in planning, development of guidelines, state specific contextualizaon of naonal policies and guidelines etc. • Work closely with naonal and state team to develop the Annual Work Plan for the program and provide support in implementaon and monitoring of program acvies as per the agreed plan and melines. • Engage in development and implementaon of innovave soluons like, strengthening community surveillance mechanisms for building resilient health system. • Support NISHTHA project’s state level teams to execute training and capacity building of government healthcare providers and front-line workers in collaboraon with the State government. • Coordinate with state teams to ensure mely and quality reporng to state, donor, and Head Quarter (HQ). • Facilitate project acvies including trainings, on-site coaching, workshop planning, logiscs planning and management to ensure smooth project implementaon. • Provide technical experse in reviewing, developing the technical contents for communicaon materials, job aids and tools for the community, healthcare providers and front-line workers • Develop and produce documents like situaon analysis reports, assessment reports, success stories, gap analysis plans, procurement plans etc. as per the program need and local context. • Facilitate documentaon of project results, successes, challenges, and lessons learned. • Collaborate with Monitoring & Evaluaon (M&E) team at India Country Office (Delhi) and State level to establish systems for tracking progress, indicators, and deliverables according to agreed work-plans to ensure state and donor requirements are met. • Represent Jhpiego at naonal and state-level meengs involving government and development partners. • Envisage and support new program development areas under HSS/CPHC. • Frequent travel in the States and districts as per the project requirements. • Perform other acvies, as assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizaonal/project goals. Abilies/Skills: • Experience and demonstrated ability of working with government health programs, counterparts, and systems. • Proficiency in wring technical and programmac documents. • Technically proficient with up-to-date skills required for the assigned task. • Excellent liaising skills with both government and private sector enes. • Excellent verbal and writen communicaons skills. • Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines. • Proficiency in computers – MS Office- Excel, Word, PowerPoint Presentaons, etc. • Ability to travel up to 40% of me. • Ability to join early would be an added advantage. Qualificaons and experience: • Any Bachelor’s Degree with Master’s degree in Public Health/ Healthcare Management/Community Medicine or a related field. • At least 5-7 years professional experience in public health, including field experience is required. • Prior working experience with M/o HFW, M/o AYUSH, Government Healthcare funconaries will be an added advantage. • Deep technical knowledge and understanding of systemic processes and guidelines for delivering CPHC through public health systems. • Proven experience in program development, implementaon, and management • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities • Leadership qualities and a passion for community and public health • Familiarity with data analysis and producing informaon and data visualizaon. • Experience working on inter-sectoral projects or programs. Experience of supporng large scale project implementaon • Familiarity with the Indian health system, NHM programs, Ayushman Bharat- Health and Wellness Centers etc. • Experience in working with a team of diverse professionals.
