YouthInvest Foundation (YouthInvest) is a not-for-profit organisation working to ensure rights to health, education and livelihoods for adolescents and youth (10-29 years). YouthInvest envisions healthy, educated, emotionally well-adjusted and skilled adolescents and youth – especially from marginalised and disadvantaged populations – entering adulthood. YouthInvest follows a lifecycle-based strategic approach for bringing about long-term changes. YouthInvest seeks to hire a qualified professional to lead its health & nutrition programme focused on demonstration and scale-up of effective and sustainable approaches to prevent childhood malnutrition. This position is full-time contractual renewable on a yearly basis. Position title: Programme Lead (Health & Nutrition) Position Based at: Kolkata or Guwahati No. of position: 1 (One) Last Date for Application – 25.01.2023 Position summary: YouthInvest is seeking an articulate, enthusiastic, and entrepreneurial individual to join our team as the Programme Lead (H&N), responsible for strategic planning, capacity building, evaluation, advocacy and improving all aspects of programme design, implementation, and monitoring of YouthInvest’s health and nutrition programme. The Programme Lead (H&N) will also be responsible for reporting and meetings with donors as well as provide leadership and overall management of health and nutrition projects. S/he is expected to model the YouthInvest values of integrity, a commitment to excellence and respect, and to model a consultative and supportive leadership approach. Responsibilities: • Development and execution of overall programme strategies, work plan, and achievement of programme results. • Overseeing all technical activities under the program and ensure that programme is fully aligned with Government ICDS, National Health Mission (NHM), POSHAN and other allied programmes. • Directing and monitoring of activities within the work plan, ensuring that activities are performed to a high professional standard, effectively implemented, and fulfil donor and YouthInvest requirements. • Capacity building and mentoring of staff at multiple programme sites across states. • Liaising with donor personnel to support project implementation and ensuring timely and complete submission of all performance reports and responses to donor requests for performance, success stories, and financial information for the programme. • Work with state teams to plan and organise a broad range of advocacy efforts, such as stakeholders meeting and dissemination opportunities, development of programme and policy briefs and papers for journals and publication in various media platforms. • Support in development and implementation of sustainability plans through institutionalisation of the program at state level, as well as integration of approaches with other YouthInvest programmes. • Engaging with donors, key stakeholders and support in developing concept notes, proposals and budgets for expansion of the programme approaches to other districts/ states. • Represent YouthInvest at district, state and national level. Qualification, experience, and skills required: • Minimum post-graduate training in Public Health/ Medicine/ Nutrition/Social Work from reputed institutions, with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in health and nutrition projects with progressively increasing responsibility. • Demonstrated experience in day-to-day management of project activities, including budget vs expenditure tracking, preferably in systems strengthening projects. • Full professional proficiency in English with excellent oral and written communications skills. • Fluency in speaking Hindi and Bengali/ Assamese desirable. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at different levels. • Ability to travel frequently. • Action-oriented, flexible approach and entrepreneurial problem-solver, with an ability to manage multiple competing deadlines.
