In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers and others.

Jhpiego under its flagship health systems strengthening project NISHTHA (funded by USAID), is providing technical assistance to the national and twelve state governments on strengthening the comprehensive primary health care by operationalizing health and wellness centres closer to community. Additionally, NISHTHA is also providing technical assistance to few states for strengthening the public health surveillance systems through support in roll out and implementation of IHIP (Integrated Health Information Platform). The project now envisages to intensify its efforts and expand its geography of work on strengthening public health surveillance in the country while working closely with the surveillance units at the district, state and at the national level.

Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Data Cum Program Associate to be based at State Headquarters through the NISHTHA project. As it is expected that there will be huge amount of data generated through NISHTHA supported activities, this position will responsible for ensuring timelines, accuracy and completeness of the data. Additionally, this position will provide support to the program, administrative and logistic support to the project teams based at state offices. The position will report to the State Program Manager/Officer.

Role and Responsibilities:

A. Data support (Time Spent 70%) :
• Work closely with the state team in developing and maintaining complete database of the project activities.
• Coordinate timely collection, collation, compilation and dissemination of data pertaining to assigned projects.
• Support respective state team and MERL team at ICO in verifying accuracy of the data.
• Assist in data collection and conduct field visits for follow-up assessments as needed.
• Conduct/ support trainings of the data record reporters of the program facilities as needed.
• Develop and maintain database for capturing the programmatic data and maintenance of queries and programs for analysis and related reports.
• Support supervisor in analyzing data, developing dashboards and generating relevant graphs and information.
• Develop relevant dashboards for data visualization purposes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintain a compendium/repository of all the resource materials developed in the state with project support
• Ensure regular knowledge management of all program documents, including photos, documents, videos, reports, presentations, concept notes, government letters, event reports, IEC materials, etc.

B. Programmatic, admin and logistic support (Time Spent 30%) :
• Maintain program and office files both electronic and physical documentation.
• Maintain trackers and repository of all on going procurements, consultants, program inventories, important communication and approvals from donors and GOI letters etc.
• Tracking of ongoing Technical Contracts and Sub awards for payments, deliverables and compliances, ensuring follow up with vendors.
• Support in organizing logistics and administrative support for conducting meetings, trainings, events under the project.
• Coordinate and ensure proper documentation and tracking of consultants engaged within the programs.
• Coordination with consultants for monthly invoices, documentation, contracts etc. Support consultants in fulfilling requirements as per the HR department.
• Prepare / Review/submission of claims and reconciliation with required supporting, activity budget preparation, procurement actions, advance settlements against activities etc.
• Review and maintain stock inventory of training material periodically.
• Manage and coordinate for ICO/state team’s travel related requirements and documentation.
• Work closely with Program Associates at ICO for procurement and logistics related matters for respective states.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or the country office team.

9. Fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi. Proficiency in the local language is an added advantage.
10. Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Ms. Office.
11. Demonstrated skills on communications and knowledge management.
12. Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks and travel upto 30% of time.

Qualifications/Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor in Arts/Commerce/Social Sciences/ Social Work with Masters in any stream will be preferred.
• Diploma in Statistics, Computer Application, Demography or Mathematics will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in programmatic, administrative and data support function.
• Proficiency in data and MIS management packages like SPSS, EPI Info, MS Access & Advance Excel etc.
• Data Base Management: including designing data entry program, data cleaning, data analysis, according to the indicators required in the frame of Projects.
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience in working with the development sector/ INGOs would be preferred.
• Experience in a similar profile.
