The Orunodoi Scheme is the Largest Direct Benefit Transfer(DBT) Scheme of Assam. Through Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme beneficiaries get an amount of money in their bank account on 10th of every month. The Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme will start from 10th April, 2023. Initially the Orunodoi Scheme has been launched to provide the monetary benefit to the Women Beneficiaries of poor family. However, through Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme the Assam Govt has decided to provide the benefits to the Widow, Divorced Female, Unmarried Female, Separate Female, Divyangjan, Transgender, Destitute, Living on Alms and Household having any member who is dwarf or ailing from Cerebral Palsy or Thalassemia or Hemophilia or Leprosy or Autism Spectrum Disordered citizens of Assam.
The Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme Beneficiary will get Rs. 1,250/- every month in their Bank Account Directly through DBT. The Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme was launched by the Assam Govt forCitizen of Assam on 14th December 2022. In Orunodoi 2.0 the State Govt will add another around 10.54 Lakhs of new beneficiaries. After addition of fresh beneficiaries the total number of beneficiaries will hit the mark of 27 lakhs.
The total financial outlay for Orunodoi is Rs 4,142 crore per annum, making it one of the largest Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) schemes in the country.

- Orunodoi Scheme symbolizes the State Government’s self-reliance, self-confidence and determination to take Assam to a path of Resurgence.
- Monthly assistance to marginalized households of Assam will be provided through Orunodoi Scheme for purchasing essential commodities like pulses, sugar, other nutritional items and medicines.
- This scheme is designed keeping in mind that women are the primary caretakers of the household, and therefore, the cash benefit shall be transferred to her account.
- Orunodoi, the largest ever Direct Benefit Transfer scheme, would give a choice to the poor and needy households on how they want to spend their money.
The finalization of beneficiaries will take place from 1st to 15th January, 2023 while application forms will be distributed among selected beneficiaries on 20th January, 2023. The collection and uploading of application forms in the dedicated portal will be completed on 28th February 2023.
Eligibility Criteria for Orunodoi Scheme
The Eligibility Criteria to be a beneficiary of Assam govt Orunodoi Asoni is mentioned below. In this scheme the Government of Assam has given the priority for the below mentioned category
- Ex PRI Member having annual income less than 2 lakhs.
- To be a beneficiary of Orunodoi Asoni you need to be and Women.
- Family living in Kutcha House in villages.
- The priority has been given for the Widow Women, Separate Female, Physically Handicap Person, Unmarried Girls(age more than 35 years) etc. at the time of selection of beneficiary for Assam Orunodoi Asoni.
- The family having maximum 15 Bigha of land in village is also eligible for the Scheme.
- Having maximum 3 Katha Land in small towns and 1.5 katha Land in Kamrup Metro are also eligible for the scheme.
Please Note: Deen Dayal Divyangjan Pension Scheme and Indira Miri Universal Widow Pension Scheme beneficiaries will be automaticiall included under Orunodoi 2.0.
Ineligible Criteria:
- The family having a AC is also ineligible for the Scheme.
- The family having a Four wheeler Car is ineligible for the Scheme.
- Govt/PSU/Cooperative Employees or pensioners are ineligible for the Scheme.
- Tractor Owners are also ineligible for the scheme.

To apply for the Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme a beneficiaries have to visit the nearest Gaon Panchayat Office, Block Development Office, Zilla Parishad Office or Deputy Commissioner Office. You have to collect the Orunodoi Asoni Application Form from the respective office. The Online apply of Orunodoi Scheme is currently unavailable therefore you have to collect the official Orunodoi Asoni Application Form which will be distributed among selected beneficiaries from 20th January 2023.
