AAU Recruitment 2023 Details
1. Senior Scientist-cum-Head
No. of Posts: 5 (OBC/MOBC-2, STP-1, SC-1, PWD-1)
Initial Pay: Rs. 1, 31,400/- (Level 13A in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, ICAR norms)
Essential Qualification: Doctoral degree in the relevant field of Agriculture/ Animal Science/ Fisheries/ Community Science/ Horticulture/ Sericulture with 8 years experience (excluding the period spent in obtaining Ph.D. Degree) in the relevant subject as Scientist/ Lecturer/ Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the Pay Band 3 of Rs. 15,600/- Rs. 39,100/- with grade pay of Rs. 5,400/ Rs. 6,000/-, Rs. 7,000/-, Rs. 8,000/-, (as per 6th CPC report) having contributions to research/ teaching/ extension education as evidenced by published work/ innovations and impact.
Desirable: Specializations in implementing extension education programme.

4. Programme Assistant (Computer) (T4)

5. Farm Manager (T4)

6. Stenographer Grade-III (erstwhile Junior Stenographer cum Computer Operator under KVKs)
No. of Post: 2 (SC-1, PWD-1)
Initial Pay: Rs. 25,500/- (Level 4 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, ICAR norms
Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with working knowledge of computer. (minimum 6 months Diploma in Computer Application).
Professional efficiency: The candidates will be given one dictation test in English at 80 w.p.m. for 10 minutes. The candidates will be required to transcribe the matter in 50 minutes on computer.
7. Driver (T1) (erstwhile Driver-cum-Mechanic)
No. of Post: 2 (UR-1, STP-1)
Initial Pay: Rs.21,700/- (Level 3 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, ICAR norms)
Essential Qualification:
- (i) Passed HSLC or its equivalent examinations from a recognized board.
- (ii) Driving license for both heavy (Tractor, power tiller etc.) and light vehicles from the appropriate Authority (the candidate will have to pass the practical skill test to be taken by an appropriate Committee of the University.
- (iii) Two (2) years experience of driving.
Desirable:
- (i) One year trade certificate in the relevant field from ITI,
- (ii) Experience of motor mechanic work.
8. Supporting Staff— Grade – I
No. of Post: 12 (UR-4, SC-2, STP-1, STH-2, OBC/MOBC-1, PWD-2)
Initial Pay: Rs. 18,000/- (Level 3 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, ICAR norms)
Essential Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent pass or ITI pass
Other Criteria of AAU Jorhat Recruitment:
Residentship: The candidates who are permanent residents of Assam should only apply for all category of posts except for the post at Sl No 1).
Maximum Age Limit as on 01.01.2023:
- Senior Scientist-cum-Head: 47 years. However, there is no upper age limit for in service candidates.
- Subject Matter Specialist; Programme Assistant (Lab. Technician); Programme Assistant (Computer); Farm Manager: 38 years
- Stenographer Grade —III, Driver & Supporting Staff: 40 years.
Age Relaxation: Age relaxation for the reserve category will be as per norms of the Govt. of Assam.

Application fee is to be deposited with the application on online mode only. The prescribed fee is Rs.500/- in case of general candidates and Rs.250/- in case of SC/ST/DAC candidates.
