The Indian Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change is the nodal partner at Union level. The project is presently preparing the implementation by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GIZ GmbH in the States of Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Assam. The objective of the project is “Support Climate Resilient Management – including protection and sustainable use – of aquatic resources in selected states of Northeast India, viz. Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland” and aim to strengthen the conservation and sustainable use of the unique aquatic ecosystems in the region, which are the basis of life for millions of people.The project focus is on following three work packages:Assessment of the state of aquatic biodiversity and ecosystems, including their vulnerability to climate change management practices.Application and implementation, better protected area management and sustainable use of aquatic resources, dialogues with private sector and documentation of best practices on nature conservation and sustainable economic use from Germany.Scope for mobilization of additional funds, in particular private investments and sustainability.C.   ResponsibilitiesSafely and responsibly performing all official travel using official vehicle.Regularly servicing and looking after official vehicles.Running official errands.Manage day to day office work.Assisting the administrative team at Bengaluru Office with her / his tasks as instructed.D.   Core Scope of Tasks1. Driving and car maintenanceProviding passenger transport in an official car for program staff, official visitors and guests.Running errands for the program, e.g., sending letters and messages, paying bills and collectingdocuments, banking related tasks.Completing the vehicle logbook correctly and conscientiously in accordance with GIZ standards.Cleaning the interior and exterior of the vehicle(s) regularly.Checking oil, water, brakes and brake liquid, wheel pressure, battery levels and the entire vehicle,monthly or every 5,000 km (whichever is first), headlights, brakes, bodywork for dents etc.Being responsible for the project vehicle documents and their good condition.Calculating petrol consumption for every refill.Reporting need for service and carrying out minor repairs.Immediately report all involvement of the programme vehicle in accidents, including minor accidents, damage, loss or theft of vehicle fittings.2. Knowledge ManagementUses all available information (including current radio news on traffic conditions) to keep updated with daily knowledge of road conditions, current passable routes, and locations, and shares this information with other office drivers.3. Basic administrative supportAssisting in stock register and ensuring that the necessary office supplies are available.Assisting with incoming and outgoing mail and respective filing.Regularly checking the office equipment and reporting damage to the administrative officer, organizing and monitoring the service and repair of office equipment.Assisting in organizing workshops and conferences.Photocopying and scanning documents as needed.4.
