Yes/No. Please elaborate your argument.About GIZ IndiaFor details, click on: https://www.giz.de/en/worldwide/368.htmlProject BackgroundThe technical cooperation project “Support to Agroecological Transformation Processes – SuATI” was commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) as part of the global BMZ Initiative “Transformation of Agriculture and Food Systems”. The project is implemented by GIZ India in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW), the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD). SuATI is focused on the states of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Assam. The objective of SuATI is to strengthen agroecological transformation processes of agricultural and food systems at national and state level in India.In cooperation with NABARD, SuATI supports the strategic and technical requirements for landscape-based implementation of agroecological approaches in 25 pilot projects. This includes GIS-based, digital and participatory planning methods for implementation and impact monitoring.ResponsibilitiesThe Junior advisor will be responsible forTimely and effective implementation of the activities of NABARD-SuATI component under supervision of advisor/senior advisor.Assist in development of operational plan and budget for NABARD-SuATI component.Support advisor/senior advisor in design of implementation, capacity building M&E etc of the project.Engage and coordinate with short- and long-term consultants (domestic and international) to achieve the project goals mentioned in below sections.Core Scope of TasksManagement and coordinationSupports landscape-based implementation of agroecological approaches with emphasis on digital tools to increase sustainability of agrifood systems, agroecology-based business models and value chains in partner states.Provides technical advice on use of GIS-based tools and applications for planning of natural farming initiatives at landscape level.Support innovations on identified critical bottlenecks in mainstreaming agroecology (on inputs, agronomy/ technology, markets, etc.).Coordinates and assists in preparing and conducting project activities and carrying out other activities as agreed in operational plan. Synergise with NABARD regional offices, government institutions, private agencies, NGOs.Contributes to formulating project action plans and implement project activities as per the result-based framework and budget in collaboration with project partners.Assists consultants and resource support agencies in carrying out their work for the identified project activities.Assists the project with all organisational and management issues.Communication and networkingBuilds strong networking with important stakeholders NGOs, FPOs/federations, technical agencies, state government etc for project implementation.Facilitates collaboration with Agri starts-up and new age enterprises for providing digital services at farm level and market level with orientation on agroecology.Coordination and synergies with NRMAE sub thematic area and other projects in the GIZ portfolio.Travel as per the project requirement.Knowledge managementSupports collection, processing and distributing relevant information and data and develop information, communication and educational resource materials as per the requirements.Facilitate/Conducts seminars / webinars / workshops with NABARD, BIRD, NGOs and resource support agencies.Facilitates technical support and monitoring of landscape-based implementation of agroecological approaches in watershed and Wadi areas for generating evidence.Assists with thematic research activities, monitoring and evaluation processes.The technical professional performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.
Required Qualifications, Experience and CompetenciesMaster’s degree in technology (GIS remote sensing)/ Natural Resource.Management/agriculture engineering, geology, soil science or other closely related field.Agriculture, Natural resource management.At least 3 years’ experience in implementation and management of agriculture/NRM projects. At least 3 years of experience in application of GIS and/or remote sensing in NRM projects.At least 3 years’ experience in working with agri-livelihood related projects.Minimum two years of experience on landscape-based planning and monitoring processes.Proficiency in English and Hindi language.Excellent skills in GIS and remote sensing tools.Excellent drafting ability and presentation and communication skills, both oral and written in English, language.Well-versed with Computer – MS Office (word, excel, power point), and ability to operate with on-line web-based applications.Ability to work as a part of the team.Location: New DelhiDuration of the contract: Until 31 December 2027Last date of receiving application: 23rd April 2023Application without GIZ application form will not be consideredOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.GIZ supports Work-Life Balance.GIZ promotes Gender Diversity – Applications from women professionals are encouraged.Please note that those individuals who have completed a consultancy assignment with GIZ in less than 6 months prior to the intended start date for this position will not be shortlisted due to organisational policy.Disclaimer: As per GIZ’s data confidentiality policy, candidate’s application is stored in our database for six months and is deleted thereafter.
