| CINI-Jharkhand Job Profile Job Title: Consultant Place of Work: CINI State Office, Ranchi, Jharkhand Reports to : Thematic Lead-Health No. of Posts : 01 Project : Health Programme Duration : At least 15-20 days person-days in 2 months between 15th Feb 2023 and 10th April 2023 (Non-Renewable) Introduction: Child in Need Institute (CINI) is a national-level award-winning non-profit organization registered in 1974 in West Bengal with state offices in Assam, Odisha and Jharkhand. The organization has been implementing programs as well as is a key technical partner of various government departments to demonstrate models in improving the quality of lives of children, adolescents and women in need. CINI’s core model is based on the CINI method that promotes a rights-based convergence approach which has so far attracted the attention of policymakers and other different actors of the development sector, and which has proven to be an effective design to promote local-level solutions for improving care and protection of Children. About Project : The Advocacy and Accountability Collaborative (TAAC) in Jharkhand has been co-established by Child in Need Institute (CINI) with support from Jhpiego and funded by USAID MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership Project. The TAAC Initiative fosters the actualization of SDGs and Universal Health Coverage 2030 promise with a focus on family planning (FP) and reproductive health (RH) continuum from a health systems lens through advocacy and accountability. The Collaborative has been active since Jan’2022 and has garnered active participation from grass-root level CSOs working around FP and RH initiatives in various districts of Jharkhand . With support from Government, CSRs, Philanthropists and Sector experts, the collaborative seeks to achieve the FP2030 goals. Purpose and Objective: The TAAC intervention began its operations since Nov’2021. The intervention looks forward to promote an environment of pro-family planning interventions with respect to scale and quality across the state. Also, it is the first of its kind bringing together diverse organizations working in different districts of Jharkhand. The journey has been full of learnings, success and challenges which needs to captured and well-documented for further replication. Hence, the need to document the journey of the intervention till date. Job Description: • The consultant is expected to do the following tasks: a. Desk review of all the available documents/reports/photographs around the projects since their inception in Jharkhand. b. Engage with the CSO partners and TAAC core team to understand their perspectives and approaches c. Develop the first draft of the document capturing the key elements-purpose of the initiative, initial steps, the methodology followed, activities are undertaken, accomplishments against expectation, failures, challenges faced, and recommendations. d. Documenting the journey and arriving at the thematic ask with reference to Process Documentation e. Sharing of the final version. Competencies: i. Good communication skills in English and Hindi ii. Communication skills in a multi-stakeholder environment iii. Ability to establish rapport with the members of CSOs iv. Understanding of Family Planning /Sexual Reproductive Health issues among young adolescents and youths in Jharkhand. v. Understanding of the public health system in Jharkhand vi. Good and proven documentation skill vii. Ability to work independently viii. Computer proficiency (MS Office) Expected Travel: Primarily, no travel is foreseen. If the consultant based out of Jharkhand and if required will be to the CINI state office or any other location within Ranchi Qualifications & Experience: • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Social Science, Rural Development, Humanities, Development Communication • Master’s in Public Health or any relevant degree in Family Planning will be preferred. Experience: a. Experience of working in Public Health with Health specific experience in Family Planning/ Sexual Reproductive Health Issues b. Understanding of Family Planning /Sexual Reproductive Health issues around adolescents and Youth in Jharkhand c. Experience of documenting incremental growth of an organization/specific project d. At least 3-5 years of experience in the development sector Emoluments: Negotiable, depending upon past experience.
