Child in Need Institute (CINI), a leading national level professionally managed NGO in India with 49 years track record since 1974. Presently CINI reaches to 10 million marginalized rural and urban populations in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Odisha and other Indian states/Union territories. CINI’s Health Nutrition Programming

For nearly 5 decades now, CINI has been implementing community based health & nutrition programmes with the objective to prevent malnutrition and ill health among women, children and adolescents in four states of India. In implementing the programmes, CINI adopts a life cycle approach in working with the target groups in ensuring their health and well being through promoting community ownership and system strengthening. All the programmes are implemented in close coordination with the respective Government Departments right from the grassroots upto the State and National Levels. Efforts are being made to increase access to existing schemes and entitlements that would lead to better health and nutrition outcomes for the communities most in need.

In order to implement such community based health programmes in, the following positions are required on an urgent basis

Post: Programme Manager

Number of Positions: 1

Stationed at: CINI Head Office, Kolkata

CTC : Rs. 1,00,000/- PM

Educational Qualification: Post Graduate or higher qualification in Public Health/Public Health Research & Nutrition/Healthcare Management/Rural Management/Economics/Demography/Epidemiology/Social Sciences

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing and implementation of public health programmes and research initiatives along with significant experience of publication in peer reviewed journals/blogs and presentation experience in conference/seminars

General Criteria: Age limit 32 – 45 yrs. The candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong writing skills, analytical and problem-solving skills and proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Power point.

Desirable: Experience in budget management, working with Government Departments, Publication in peer reviewed journals and policy level work in public health sector will be an added advantage

Languages known: Excellent communication skills in English. Working knowledge of Bengali and Hindi is desirable

Job Responsibilities :

The Programme Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the health and nutrition programmes across geographies and states and ensure learnings from implementation are documented and disseminated in journals/blogs of national and international repute. The programme manager will also work towards expanding network and membership of the organization in different national and global networks. The work will also include managing project teams (with support of other team members), liaising with donors and stakeholders, and monitoring and reporting on project progress and impact. Some of the key responsibilities of the Programme Manager includes:

1. Design and managing project and programme plans, budgets, and timelines for the operational states
2. Undertake policy analysis and global/national developments with respect to health and align with programme priorities implemented by the organization
3. Explore potential local, national and global networks of maternal and child health where CINI can be a member and expedite the membership process
4. Ensure publication of learnings generated from implementation in such forums and other peer reviewed journals and presentation of papers in conference/seminars
5. Ensuring quality in overall implementation of the projects as per the project design
6. Monitoring and evaluating project progress and impact, and making necessary adjustments to ensure success
7. Providing regular reports on project status to senior management, donor and other stakeholders
8. Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, regulations, and legal requirements
9. Identifying and managing project risks, and implementing risk mitigation strategies
10. Ensure timely compilation, analysis and submission of quantitative, qualitative, narrative and financial reports to donors/stakeholders/government/reporting authority
11. Support other colleagues in advocacy, data management and evidence building.
12. Any other activities as per the need of the organization
