Preference would be given to those candidates with relevant educational qualification, experience and who will be ready to join soon. Overview Child in Need Institute (CINI) is a national level organization that aims to promote ‘sustainable development in education, protection, health and nutrition – of child, adolescent and woman in need’. Child In Need Institute is headquartered in Kolkata (Calcutta) and operating in –West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam and North East States. CINI has been involved in several major community development focused projects in India since 1974, driving at the underlying social causes of poverty. CINI focuses primarily on the issues of health, nutrition, education and protection of children and mothers in collaboration with the Indian/State –Government, UN Agencies, corporates and other local and international NGOs with an outreach to 10 million of people in India. Project background: Rayagada is one of the aspirational districts of southern Odisha with high concentration of scheduled tribe especially, the particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs). The district faces multiple challenges in terms of low literacy rates, poor socio-economic status and high prevalence of maternal and child mortality, under nutrition and school drop outs. There is also an inequitable access and poor quality of maternal and child health services that have detrimental effects on child’s nutritional status, learning ability and school performance and eventually having adverse impact on adult life productivity. As education is a very intrinsic part of human growth and development thus sincere efforts are given by different organizations to ensure child education and impactful early learning but irregular functioning of preschool services is depriving most of the children from school readiness which further unmet to universal primary education. Therefore, the proposed project aims to improve maternal, child health and nutrition (MCHN), and early childhood care & education (ECCE) in collaboration with the Dept. of ST & SC, H&FW, and WCD&MS, Govt. of Odisha with a convergent approach in Ramnaguda & Kolnara blocks of Rayagada district. Post: District Coordinator Stationed at: Rayagada, Odisha CTC: Rs.4.8 lakh per annum Essential Qualifications & Experience • Postgraduate in any discipline, preferably in social work & social sciences • 7-8 years of experience in managing health/ nutrition/ ECCE related community-based interventions in coordination with district administration Languages: Excellent written and spoken command of English and Oriya is preferred Desired Skills & Requirement: • Coordination and Liaison with relevant stakeholders and Govt. Departments • Strong communication & liasioning skill to interact with senior level Govt. Officials • Facilitating training of government officials and community based organisations • Ability to work in a team as well as independently, self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks • Able to manage field team and large database, MIS and reports • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation skills and excellent data management skills • Excellent knowledge in computer applications with proficient knowledge on the MS office, google form, Excel • Willingness and ability to travel within the regions on a regular basis • Ability to prioritise a varied workload, manage time and meet deadlines • Good report writing, interpersonal and communication skills both in English & Odia Responsibility: • Over all coordination of project activities in Ramnaguda & Kolnara blocks. • Besides this He or She has to see the overall operation of Bissamcuttack Block & team. • Coordination with the district administration to ensure better program convergence. • Guide the block coordinators on program operation management and capacity building. • Preparation of qualitative and quantitative progress report, quarterly progress report and budget utilization to state office and documentation of learning and good practice Job description: • Liaison and communication with the local community, block and district administrative level and there stakeholders including the govt. departments to support the program as planned under the project • Overall responsible for regular monitoring, planning, implementation, and monitoring activities at the field level. • Planning and review of the different trainings, capacity building activities and field level activities under the program. • Review and finalization of reports, documents, case studies under the program. • Preparation and finalization of financial reporting documents with support from accounts Preparation of qualitative and quantitative progress reports (weekly, monthly and quarterly) and Presenting the program progress at different levels as and when necessary. • Supporting the team for different tendering activities for translation, printing etc • Review and finalization of different tools for monitoring and data entry tool. • Review of the data collected under the project • Share the learning from the project in district level convergence meeting, advocate to replicate the good practices in the project influential areas and its scale-up across the district. • Strict adherence to the organisations code of good conduct. • Ensure required confidentiality & security of all work-related information. • Any other duties assigned by the State Project Manager Reporting: The position will be reporting to State Program Manager to achieve project deliverables as per the work plan Desirable: Candidate having Android mobile & must ride two wheeler Please send an email to jobs@cinindia.org with the subject line Application for the post of “District Coordinator”, Rayagada, Odisha The last date for application is 12th July 2023 Note: Please attach a cover letter with your CV, justifying yourself for the suitability of the post.
