![]() Business Associate Department: Traidcraft India Location: Assam Reports to: Supply Chain Specialist Traidcraft India Role Type: 24 month fixed term Hours of Work: Full Time, Flexible Role Purpose: To support the project team and the partners in facilitating sustainable livelihoods options & resilience of 9000 tea worker communities in 5 districts of North Bengal and Assam. Specifically, the position holder will bring his/her passion in building practices in the tea sector that are climate resilient. Additionally, the person will support the project team in monitoring and managing the MIS and various studies. Responsibilities • Stay abreast of developments pertaining to climate resilient best practices in tea sector and make appropriate implementation plans in coordination with the supply chain specialist and other project staff in the field • Monitor and hand hold the implementation of the plans as pilots in few select tea gardens in collaboration with the management, the project partners and other key stakeholders. • Partake in relevant surveys and studies from time to time as per the need of the project • Update MIS and other reporting formalities of the project on a monthly and quarterly basis. • To assist in development of actionable monthly/Yearly plans and partake in team reviews and coordinate with Project Coordinators, resource persons and community mobilizers for implementation of the plan • To carry out other duties, which may or may not be related to the job, as reasonably requested by management Person Specification: You will be: A self-driven professional having demonstrated experience in managing climate resilient practices in tea or similar sectors such as agriculture. Relevant experience in working with youth and women having sound understanding off farm and farm based livelihoods and/or access to social entitlements will be an added advantage. You will have: • Experience in working on organic/climate resilient practices either in Tea sector or any similar sectors such as agriculture • Experience in managing/working with partners in monitoring or undertaking similar collaborative work with range of stakeholders • Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in similar role • Experience of working with government livelihoods program, companies, (private and/or public), private sector partnerships, skill training institutes and a range of Indian Funders/Foundations • Strong interpersonal skill & ability to work & coordinate with different stakeholders • Excellent oral and written communication skills with excellent IT (including familiarity with Microsoft Office), analytical and numeracy (including budget management) skills • Willingness to travel extensively. You may have: • Bachelor’ s/Master’s Degree in Environmental science/Rural Management/social work/ Economics/MBA • Experience in working with large national/international NGO’s, foundations, professional advisory/consulting firm or government programs • Knowledge of tea sector will be an added advantage Other: • The role is likely to include significant travel within West Bengal & Assam.
