About Board:
Firstly, Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha conceived the Nuclear Program in India. In 1945, the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) was established made by Dr. Bhabha to carry out nuclear science research. To intensify the effort to exploit nuclear energy for the benefit of the nation, Atomic Energy, Trombay Establishment by Bhabha was done in January 1954. This was done mainly for a multidisciplinary research program that was essential for India’s ambitious nuclear program. After the sad demise of Bhabha in 1966, AEET was renamed BARC.
