(JSI), and a diverse group of experienced partners. Launched in September 2018, USAID Advancing Nutrition implements and provides technical support to nutrition interventions across sectors and disciplines for USAID and its partners. The project’s multi-sectoral approach draws together global nutrition experience to design, implement and evaluate programs that address the root causes of malnutrition. Committed to using a systems approach, USAID Advancing Nutrition strives to sustain positive outcomes by building local capacity, supporting behavior change and strengthening the enabling environment to save lives, improve health, build resilience, increase economic productivity and advance development.In India, USAID Advancing Nutrition Project aims, through nutrition sensitive approaches, to directly reach at least 50,000 women, adolescent girls, and children from socio-economically disadvantaged families that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 in Assam State. Beyond that, knowing that women play a key role in nutrition, the project hopes to support the empowerment of rural women to increase their access to economic opportunities. Finally, being a multi-sectoral nutrition project, it will promote partnerships with the government and private sector to ensure broad buy-in and sustainability. This partnership effort will also extend into establishing a community of practice, or learning platform, for the exchange of knowledge and best practices around nutrition-sensitive agriculture approaches to improving diets and nutrition.Job SummaryThe Program Associate is a full-time position based at Guwahati under the supervision of the Project Director in the USAID Advancing Nutrition India Project. The Program Associate will coordinate with Technical Advisor and Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Specialist and will chalk out a follow up action plan to ensure that the project’s operational tasks are implemented as per scheduled timelines.ResponsibilitiesUnder the guidance of Project Director and in coordination with Technical Advisor and Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Specialist, the Program Associate will perform the following duties and responsibilities:Provide coordination support for coordinating various events and project activities put on by USAID Advancing Nutrition, such as evidence sharing events, business-to-business meetings, and trainings etc.Provide day to day support to various consultants (e.g., photography, market systems, etc.) and coordinate with them for completion of necessary activities and their time-bound reporting to JSI PLProvide ongoing support to the Technical Advisor and MEL Specialist of Advancing Nutrition Project for implementation of project routine activities, local implementation partner coordination, as well as monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) related activities.Regularly document challenges and successes for program activities under the project and provide support for addressing the challenges with guidance from the Project DirectorAssist the Project Director on sharing ofpromising experiences/ success stories/ key milestones of USAID Advancing Nutrition activities.Support in coordinating and documenting the project review meetingsSupport in preparation of presentations of the project for partners/other stakeholdersCoordinate with the local Implementing Partner on the status of various training programs, social and behavior change activities, and other related activities and provide updates to the Project Director and respective Technical Experts.Coordinate with the local implementing partner and Government departments in planning and delivery of various value chain related market interventions for community collectives in the areas of horticulture and aquaculture.Assist in designing, rolling out and monitoring various Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) messaging tools in the field. This includes digital solutions (Virtual Training Platforms, messaging tools etc.) as well as non-digital participatory tools (community level campaigns and activities).Qualifications and SkillsJSIPL seeks a results-oriented individual with the ability to produce high quality deliverables, managing multiple concurrent tasks, and meet tight deadlines with attention to detail. The successful candidate is required to have:A post graduate degree in agriculture, market systems development, nutrition, social sciences social work, or similar field is essential.
