About SELCO Foundation: SELCO Foundation is an open source, not for profit organization that engages in field-based R&D and ecosystem building for deployment of clean energy solutions that alleviate poverty in tribal, rural and urban poor areas. The organization works in collaboration with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs, NGOs from various developmental sectors and educational institutions to link the benefits of sustainable energy to poverty eradication. The organisation works across verticals such as energy access, health, water purification, livelihoods, enterprise development with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs and partners from various developmental sectors.

Job Description: This position would require the candidate to have strong analytical thinking and interpersonal communication skills.

The candidate should have experience in working with implementation based developmental organization/s, and proven experience in designing robust Monitoring and Evaluation systems, MIS platforms and set up processes which build capacity in implementation teams for data collection, and quality of solution delivery and benchmarking for the organization and sector as a whole. (S)He is expected to be entrepreneurial, and adapt to varying situations and organizational requirements. In this role, the candidate would play a key role in ensuring that the values, philosophy and key approaches of the organization are demonstrated in a consistent manner across the work portfolio.

Roles And Responsibilities

Monitoring and Evaluation-

• Provide assistance to run the on-going M&E system and develop the tools as per the need to enable all program teams to be able to collect, aggregate and support analysis of data seamlessly, in order to meet all relevant reporting requirements and to facilitate and inform program management and strategy
• Ensure monitoring and evaluation system will efficieantly track the project/ programme results at different levels (outputs, outcomes and impact)
• Develop the M&E Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Incorporate programmatic / operational team feedback to ensure the continuous improvement of data management systems
• Analyse MIS data and prepare reports according to project demands and assist program managers and team leads in analysing of the data to communicate key learnings and plan on next steps with implemented projects
• In liaison with Research and Program Team leads and Program Managers, review M&E plans for various projects and other monitoring, evaluation, research and learning tools for consistency with the organizations M&E needs

Research Studies and Surveys-

• Provide assistance in designing and implementing the research studies, needs assessments, evaluation surveys (Baseline, Midline and Endline) using qualitative and quantitate methods
• Develop standardize survey tools and other data collection forms for evaluation studies with the help of program staff.
• Analyse data and prepare the reports and decks for program team
• Provide alert to the respective programme managers, team leads and procurement officers on corrective actions required to avoid delays in implementation, including flagging operational issues and risks requiring timely actions
• Identify and support documentation of best practices and lessons learned and share with program managers and relevant stakeholders to maximize impact of the projects; foster a productive relationship and lesson-learned sharing culture among different teams

Requirements

• Between 3 – 7 years of working experience with research sector in social development sector
• In-depth knowledge of M&E systems, MIS, Impact evaluations etc
• Familiarity with research methodologies, tools and analysis for qualitative and quantitative studies
• Sound knowledge of livelihood sector. Renewable energy and social development
• Good analytical skills e.g., the ability to derive meaningful relationships in the data to draw meaningful insights using statistical software packages
• Efficient user of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluency in oral and written in English & Odia. Proficiency in other languages such as Hindi, Kanada, Assamese, Manipuri will be an added advantage
• Experience in managing a study team, data collection and data management
• Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areas within the region
• Good interpersonal and communication skills

Qualification:

Master’s degree in social work, Social entrepreneurship, economics, management, demography, or other relevant social science field that includes statistical training and experimental methods
